Despite a relatively low turn out of players for the game, we again had a nice mix of new and old players. We also had a large number of non-playing photographers along for the game which allowed us to get some shots right in the heat of battle. Due to increased building activities at the original spot we decided to move around on the site a bit. The first couple of games were played on a new set of heaps to the south of the original spot. These heaps were not really suitable for proper gaming, with very steep (cliff-like) sides which made movement quite treacherous, however we had a couple of very good games here before moving to what we believe will become the new regular gaming spot.
The new spot is on a low ridge with lots of trees, scrub and brush. A recent burn has thinned out the grass creating a near perfect gaming area, with sufficient cover to provide camoflage when you need it, but open enough to avoid long pauses in the action while the opposing teams search for each other. We played several games here, and despite the small teams (3 vs 4) we had great fun, however this site will be a perfect venue for larger teams, and will allow the employment of some good strategy and tactics.
The final game was played in the playpaintball-signature immortality format. Despite relatively few players, and the relatively open bush, it was a short but good game, with a lot of paint meeting human targets, and a few more players joining the hall of pain. The next game will again use this new site, and we hope to see more of you there. Have a look at the many pics in the game gallery in the Pictures section. Till next time. JK
