The long awaited game of the 9th of July began on a very cold Pretoria morning. The air was so cold that the paint was very brittle (and many players had frequent barrel-bursts), and those of using CO2 had some pressure problems. Nevertheless once we started the game, the adrenaline and action soon warmed us up. There were numerous new players, as well as a lot of the regulars. The number of regulars sporting their own gear has also increased which bodes well for the future. Hopefully when summer starts we can attract even more players and run games with 40 more more players.
We started out on the heaps (ostensibly because the grass was a bit wet with dew), and then followed that with some games in the grass and trees. We finished off with some flag capture games back on the heaps, and then in an effort to finish off the paint, played two reincarnation games, with a final immortality show-down in the trees where large quantities of paint were exchanged, and some people (like Allen, pic above) took on the look of modern art! The game was another great success, and we all look forward to the next game on the 13th of August. JK.
